Shadowban Checker
No outside tool can read a platform's hidden flags, so this checker does what actually works: it scores your reach drop and symptoms, then tells you the likely causes and what to do next.
Free, no sign-up, runs in your browser. Updated 2026-10-29.
What a shadowban actually is
"Shadowban" is not an official term. Platforms say they limit how widely some content or accounts are recommended, for example when it breaks community guidelines or looks like spam. Because the platforms do not show a flag, no website can read it for you. Any checker that claims a definite yes or no is guessing, so this one scores the evidence instead.
How to check properly
- Check in the app first. Instagram has an Account status page in settings, and TikTok has an account check that shows whether your content is eligible for the For You feed. Menu names change, so search the app's settings for "account status".
- Run a hashtag test. Post something normal with one niche hashtag, then look for it from an account that does not follow you. Wait a few hours, because new posts can take time to appear.
- Compare non-follower reach. In your analytics, check what share of views come from people who don't follow you. A collapse in that number is the clearest sign of reduced distribution.
- Compare several posts. One flop proves nothing. Look at your last 5 to 10 posts against the previous 5 to 10.
Got a specific notice such as "Action Blocked" or "account disabled"? Decode it with the ban message decoder, then draft an appeal message if needed.

How to recover
- Stop automation, follow/unfollow tools and any bought engagement, and remove third-party apps with access to your account.
- Delete or edit posts that may break the rules, such as copied content or banned hashtags.
- Post original content at a normal pace for one to two weeks, without bursts of activity.
- If the app shows a warning or limit, use its appeal or "disagree" option.
- Be patient. Restrictions that come from rules violations often lift on their own after a quiet period, while a normal reach dip may just be a weak run of posts.
Frequently asked questions
Can any tool tell me for sure if I am shadowbanned?
No. The platforms do not publish this data. Your own analytics and the in-app account status are the most reliable evidence.
How long does a shadowban last?
It varies. Many restrictions lift within days to a couple of weeks once the cause stops, but there is no fixed timeline and platforms do not confirm one.
Will a new account fix it?
It rarely helps and can look like evasion. It is better to find and fix the cause on your current account.
