Reddit Shadowban: How to Check and What To Do
On Reddit, "shadowban" can mean two very different things: a sitewide restriction that hides you from everyone, or posts being removed by a subreddit or its spam filter. The fix depends on which one it is.

Log out or use a private window and open your profile. If it does not load for others, you may be restricted sitewide and should use Reddit's appeal process. If it loads, your posts are probably being filtered by a subreddit.
Test it in two minutes
- Open a private window without logging in.
- Go to your profile address, which looks like reddit.com/user/yourname.
- If it shows a not-found or suspended page while it loads fine when you are logged in, you may have a sitewide restriction.
- If it loads and shows posts, you are not sitewide restricted.
If only some posts vanish
- A subreddit's automatic spam filter may be holding your posts. Message the moderators politely.
- New or low-karma accounts are filtered more often.
- Posting links to the same site again and again can trigger spam filters.
If it is sitewide
- Check your messages and email for a notice from Reddit.
- Use Reddit's official appeal form once. Explain calmly what you did and what you changed.
- Do not create a new account to get around it, since that can be treated as evasion.
Avoid it
- Do not vote-manipulate or use multiple accounts to boost posts.
- Do not spam links or self-promote more than the rules allow.
- Take part in conversations instead of only posting links.

Rules and timings change, so check the platform's own notice and Help Center. Never pay anyone who promises to unban an account, and never share passwords, codes or ID with them.
Frequently asked questions
Is a shadowban the same as a suspension?
A suspension shows a visible notice on your account. A shadowban hides your activity from others without telling you.
Why do my posts get removed?
Often a subreddit filter or moderator, not a sitewide ban. Message the mods.
Will a new account help?
Creating one to evade a ban can break the rules. Appeal the original account.
