YouTube "Shadowban"? Why Your Views Dropped and What to Check
YouTube says it does not shadowban channels, and most view drops come from impressions, click-through rate or topic changes. But there are real restrictions, such as limited features or ads, so check for those first.

In YouTube Studio, check notifications and the Content tab for restrictions, then compare impressions, click-through rate and traffic sources. Most drops are explained by those numbers.
Check these first
- Notifications and Content tab. Look for strikes, limited ads, age restrictions or reduced features.
- Impressions. In Analytics, open Reach. Did impressions fall, or did click-through rate fall?
- Traffic sources. See whether search, browse or suggested traffic dropped.
- Compare videos. If only one topic dropped, it is likely audience interest.
If impressions fell
- Your recent videos may not match what your audience watches.
- Titles and thumbnails may be less compelling.
- Seasonal or trend changes.
- Upload gaps.
If it is a real restriction
- Limited ads. Review the video's monetization tab and request a review.
- Strikes. Read the Community Guidelines strike guide or the copyright strike guide.
- Terminated. Use the official appeal form once.
How to recover views
- Improve the packaging: test titles and thumbnails on your best performing topics.
- Return to formats that worked.
- Upload consistently.
- Fix any policy issues quickly.

Rules and timings change, so check the platform's own notice and Help Center. Never pay anyone who promises to unban an account, and never share passwords, codes or ID with them.
Frequently asked questions
Does YouTube shadowban channels?
YouTube says it does not hide channels in secret. Views drop mostly because of impressions, click-through rate or content changes, plus real restrictions that show in Studio.
How do I know if I have a restriction?
Check notifications and the Content tab in YouTube Studio. Restrictions are listed there.
Will deleting old videos help?
Usually not. Improve new videos instead, unless old ones break the rules.
